A little bit about me, professionally

I’m Erin Mabee, a Philadelphia based graphic designer and all-around creative soul. I specialize in web design, branding, and illustration. My path into graphic design has been unconventional; initially trained in costume design during my early career and a comedian in more recent history, I made my way to graphic design in 2019. I completed a Masters in Graphic Design in 2022 and have had the privilege of working in various settings – from in-house positions to studio environments and freelance projects – spanning a diverse range of industries. My experiences have taken me through the healthcare sector, non-profit organizations,  the world of comedy, grassroots organizing, higher ed institutions, biotech companies, entertainment, and more.

Beyond design, I have a rich background in performance and education that spans over a decade. Collaborating with diverse groups has honed my ability to establish connections, entertain an audience, and foster a comfortable environment with anyone I work with.

A little bit about me, personally

When I am not designing, I’m still designing. But I do so off the computer and give my eyes a rest. I love relief print making, specifically linocuts, making my own recycled paper for my prints, or just some good old-fashioned drawing.

When I am really not designing, you can find me watching horror movies, playing animal crossing, talking about Spider-Man, begging my plants to stay alive, or annoying my family.

A little bit about me, according to others

Erin was fantastic to work with! She was such an attentive listener to my vision of the brand, and brought it to life. In addition to delivering a stunning logo and brand design strategy, she also took so many research steps to ensure that everything stood out in the market. Erin is excellent at setting expectations of the design process and timelines so you know exactly what to expect at each stage. In addition to her creativity and talent designing, she is also a wonderful person to collaborate with- cannot recommend working with her enough!
After working with Erin on a federally funded grant program, I cannot recommend her highly enough. She quickly adapted to our team's dynamic and skillfully transformed our mission and tone into a graphic form that exceeded all expectations. In addition to her expertise in graphic design, Erin was a joy to work with. She collaborated in earnest, asked questions when clarification was needed, and reliably delivered beautiful products at or before established deadlines. If you need a talented graphic designer and natural collaborator, look no further. Erin's designs are the first things people comment on when they see our project!arch steps to ensure that everything stood out in the market. Erin has been a pleasure to work with as the key merchandise designer for our CordCutting.com podcast, Yellowjackets Hive. From conceptualization to artistic execution, Erin has a strong handle on visual elements and branding. Not only is she communicative, responsive, and creative, but also she’s easy to work with and has a great personality. We love her and her graphic design work so much we featured her on the Fan Art of Yellowjackets episode! Erin’s eye for smart design and flair for imaginative artistry is clearly a result of her foundational knowledge and practice as a designer. Any team would be lucky to bring her on and collaborate with her; she’s one of the best designers we’ve worked with.

What
I do

Web Design

Web Designer & webflow developer

I specialize in crafting website designs with a particular expertise in Webflow. Every site I design and build adheres closely to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), ensuring inclusivity for all users. I keep a keen eye on SEO best practices and design for full responsiveness.

A web project can take me anywhere between 1 - 5 months to design from scratch and build to completion.

Branding

Brand strategy & Visual Identity

Branding and Identity is where I truly find my stride. With over 6 years of experience under my belt, I've had the privilege of crafting brand identities for a diverse array of organizations.

No two branding projects are alike, and the timeline can vary accordingly. On average, branding projects typically span anywhere from 1 to 3 months.

Illustration

Vector or raster artwork

My personal illustration style is all about embracing color, texture, and a touch of whimsical. With a preference for a distressed aesthetic, I gravitate towards using techniques like Riso printing, halftones, relief printing, and just black ink on paper.

As a seasoned graphic designer, I am able to illustrate both vector-based and/or raster-based artwork. Illustration projects can start and finish in a day or take up to 4 months.
